About this model
TE565 was built at Castle Bromwich and delivered to 310 Squadron, the first foreign-crewed fighter squadron formed in Britain during WW2. The model represents the aircraft during its final operational period at RAF Manston in February 1945, flown by Czech pilots who had escaped to continue the fight from Britain.
The finish reproduces the dark sea grey and camouflage green upper surfaces with dark grey undersides, the greeny-blue tail band and spinner, yellow propeller tips and wing leading edges, and red gun patches. Underside gun slots are picked out in matt black, with rusty brown weathering on the exhaust pipes. Tyres are matt black with silver hubs, the serial TE565 is printed in black on a pale green fuselage band, and NN-N squadron codes appear in white on both sides of the fuselage, with the RAF roundel centred on the fuselage.
