PRODUCT INFO
This is a Hobby Master 1/72 scale diecast model of the Tornado IDS in Holloman AFB, German Air Force Flight Training Centre, 2007 markings.
About this model
The Panavia Tornado was developed jointly by the UK, West Germany and Italy as a two-seat, twin-engine aircraft with variable-sweep wings. It first flew on August 14, 1974, with the first example delivered to the German Air Force on July 27, 1979. The IDS (interdictor/strike) was one of three main variants alongside the ECR and ADV, and of the 992 Tornados built by the end of production in 1998, 745 were IDS aircraft.
The model shows the surface detail and panel lines typical of Hobby Master's releases across the fuselage and swing wings, along with the two-seat strike variant's air intakes and weapon attachment points. It comes boxed complete with retractable landing gear and a display stand.
