About this model
The McDonnell F-4 Phantom II began life as a private venture before entering USN service as a carrier-based attack aircraft, first flying on 27 May 1958 and entering active service in December 1960. Its performance against front-line USAF fighters led to the USAF ordering its own variant, the F-4C, and the type went on to serve in well over a dozen variants across multiple air forces.
This model carries the markings of the Wild Weasel mission, the USAF role dedicated to suppressing enemy air defences. It arrives ready to display, with panel lines and livery reproduced to Hobby Master's usual diecast standard.
