PRODUCT INFO
The Cobi YF-16 First Flight 1974 is a 1:48 scale brick model kit of the F-16 prototype, built from 375 pieces and finished in the markings worn during its February 1974 maiden flight.
About this model
This set reproduces the YF-16, the prototype that led to the F-16 Fighting Falcon, one of the most widely used multi-role fighters developed in the United States during the 1970s. The kit is produced under Lockheed Martin licence, with printed blocks carrying the US Air Force markings and the distinctive test-flight paint scheme from the period.
Alongside the aircraft itself, the set includes a pilot figure wearing a test flight suit, helmet and oxygen mask with hose, adding a figure element to the finished build. The cockpit is moulded in two-colour injection for added detail.
