About this model
The AC-47 was a modification of the long-serving Douglas C-47 Skytrain, fitted with side-firing miniguns capable of 6,000 rounds a minute. This model carries the markings of 43-49770, known as 'Spooky 71', the aircraft flown on the night of 24th February 1969 when it took a direct mortar hit while supporting troops under attack at Long Binh. Despite 3,500 shrapnel holes from the strike, the aircraft returned safely to base.
The model arrives ready-built as a collectable diecast piece, finished in USAF markings for this specific airframe.
