Tamiya FM-1 Wildcat/Martlet 1:48 Plastic Model Aircraft Kit 61126

The Tamiya FM-1 Wildcat/Martlet is a 1:48 scale plastic model aircraft kit depicting the Eastern Air Lines built variant of the F4F Wildcat, armed with four .50-calibre machine guns instead of six.

About this model

This kit is based on Tamiya's existing 1/48 F4F-4 Wildcat tooling, adapted to reflect the FM-1's distinctive features: no machine gun access doors on the upper wing surface and enlarged magazine panels below. A new rear-view mirror part is included for building the Royal Navy Martlet Mk.V, and invasion stripes are supplied for the HMS Tracker marking option from the Normandy operations.

Panel lines and rivet detail run across the fuselage, and the main landing gear structure is reproduced in full. Three marking options are included, covering US Navy and Royal Navy Martlet service between 1943 and 1944, among them the 846th Fighter Squadron, 58th Mixed Fighter Squadron and 33rd Mixed Fighter Squadron.
