PRODUCT INFO
This is a 1:72 scale diecast model of the F-35B Lightning II in RAF markings, finished in Beast Mode configuration as operated from HMS Prince Of Wales, made by Hobby Master.
About this model
Beast Mode refers to the F-35B carrying its full weapons load on external hardpoints in addition to the internal bay, maximising the aircraft's strike capability at the cost of stealth. This model represents that configuration, and includes 2 x Meteor missiles housed inside the internal weapons bay.
The F-35 is a fifth generation stealth fighter built in three variants. The F-35A is the CTOL version for conventional runways, the F-35B is the STOVL variant used by the RAF and Royal Navy from carriers such as HMS Prince Of Wales, and the F-35C is the CV variant built for carrier catapult operations. The F-35B is replacing the AV-8B Harrier in short take off and vertical landing roles.
