Corgi Phantom FG.1 XV582 'Black Mike' 1:48 Diecast Model Aircraft - AA27904

This is a Corgi Phantom FG.1 XV582 'Black Mike' diecast model aircraft in 1:48 scale, finished in the gloss black scheme worn by this RAF Phantom during its final year of service.

About this model

XV582 served with RAF No.111 Squadron at Leuchars and was given an all-over gloss black scheme to mark both the Phantom's RAF service and the squadron's history, which included the 'Black Arrows' aerobatic team flying black painted Hawker Hunters. The scheme was intended for a single static appearance at the 1989 Leuchars 'At Home' Airshow but proved popular enough that the aircraft used its remaining flying hours as Treble One's display machine through 1990.

Known to RAF pilots and enthusiasts as 'Black Mike' because of her colour and squadron letter, XV582 made her final flight on 22nd September 1990 before becoming a static exhibit at Leuchars. This Corgi diecast model recreates that scheme in 1:48 scale.
