PRODUCT INFO
This is the Aviation72 Folland Gnat T Mk 1 in Red Arrows RAF display team livery, a 1:72 scale diecast model aircraft.
About this model
The Gnat was developed by Folland to meet the RAF's 1957 Trainer Specification T.185D, providing a two-seat advanced trainer able to move pilots on from the DH Vampire T 11 to fighters such as the English Electric Lightning. An initial order for 14 modified Gnat trainers was placed on 7 January 1958, and the type entered RAF service as the Gnat T Mk 1.
From 1964, the year the Red Arrows were formed, until 1979 when the Hawk took over, the Gnat T Mk 1 served as the team's display aircraft. This model is finished in that scheme.
