About this model
The McDonnell Phantom II began life as a private venture before the US Navy adopted it as a carrier-based fighter, first flying in May 1958 and entering service in December 1960. A fly-off against front-line USAF fighters proved so convincing that the Air Force ordered its own version, and the design went on to spawn well over a dozen variants used around the world, including the German Air Force F-4F represented here.
The model comes boxed complete with a display stand and separate landing gear fitted.
