About this model
VA-12 traces its lineage to Bomber-Fighter Squadron 4 (VBF-4) Flying Ubangis, formed on May 12th 1945 flying the F4U Corsair and F6F Hellcat. The A-7 Corsair II itself was developed as a longer-range, higher-payload successor to the A-4 Skyhawk, first flying on September 27th 1965, and went on to serve in Vietnam and later with the US Air Force as well as the Navy.
The model arrives ready-made in diecast metal with some plastic components, with pad printed markings and placards, an opening canopy over a detailed cockpit, selected moveable control surfaces, interchangeable extended or retracted landing gear, a removable pilot figure, detachable ordnance with placards, and a stand for in-flight display.
