PRODUCT INFO
The Cobi Kawasaki Ki-61-I Hien 'Tony' is a 1:32 scale brick model kit of the Japanese WW2 fighter, built from 324 Cobi construction blocks.
About this model
The Kawasaki Ki-61 was a Japanese Army fighter known to Allied airmen as 'Tony', a name given in the mistaken belief that the design had Italian origins. Over 3,000 of the type were built, and it was first encountered by US airmen over Yokohama Harbor during the Doolittle Raid in 1942.
This Cobi rendition includes a rotating propeller, movable wing ailerons and wheels with rubber tyres that fold to a horizontal position. The cockpit opens to seat the included pilot figure, and the model comes with a display stand carrying a name plate. Printed blocks carry the aircraft's historical markings and are designed to resist scratching and fading.
