Oxford Diecast Heinkel He162 RAF 1945 1:72 Diecast Model Aircraft AC076

The Oxford Diecast Heinkel He162 RAF 1945 is a 1:72 scale diecast model aircraft depicting the captured Luftwaffe jet flown and tested by the RAF after the German surrender in May 1945.

About this model

This replica represents aircraft Nr. 120072, the airframe flown by test pilot Eric 'Winkle' Brown, who praised its responsive controls, and which later suffered a rudder failure during a demonstration flight at RAE Farnborough in November 1945. Oxford's model reproduces the dark green upper surfaces and blue-grey undersides of its RAF scheme, with an off-white nose cone, the serial 120072 on the tail fin, and RAF roundels on the wings and rear fuselage.

The model is built from diecast metal with precision plastic components, with panel lines, rivet detail and antennas reflecting the He162's wooden airframe construction. A dark grey cockpit interior and transparent canopy hatch are included, and the model is mounted on a display stand in flying configuration.
