About this model
The North American F-86 Sabre was America's first swept-wing fighter, produced between 1949 and 1956. Alongside US production, the type was also built under licence in Canada and Australia, bringing total output across all variants to 9,860 units. It became best known for its role in the Korean War, where it faced the Soviet-built MiG-15 Fagot, the other swept-wing fighter of that conflict.
This Hobby Master release depicts a Canadian-built Sabre Mk.5 in the markings of the RCAF Sky Lancers aerobatic team, serial 23483, as flown in 1956. The model comes with landing gear fitted, ready for display.
