The matt finish gives a flat, non-reflective surface that suits weathered military hardware rather than a glossy showroom look.

The water-soluble acrylic formula is designed to flow smoothly whether you work by brush or airbrush, with good coverage and no blushing or fading as it cures. It bonds well to common model plastics, styrene resins and styrofoam, so it can be used across different scales and subject types.

Specifications

Brand: Tamiya

Colour: Desert Yellow

Finish: Matt

Volume: 10ml

Type: Acrylic paint

Thinner: Tamiya X-20A

Common questions

Can I use this paint with an airbrush?

Yes, thin it with Tamiya X-20A Thinner before airbrushing for a smooth, even coat.

Will it mix with other Tamiya acrylics?

Yes, XF-59 is fully intermixable with other Tamiya acrylic paints, so you can blend custom desert shades or adjust the tone to match reference photos.

Does it need a top coat for a matt finish?

No, XF-59 dries to a matt finish on its own, so no additional varnish is needed for a flat appearance.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0982/0294/3863/files/xf-59-desert-yellow-matt-acrylic-paint-10ml-TM-81759.jpg?v=1774300161
