The F2A-3 was the final production variant of the U.S. Navy's first monoplane fighter, with greater fuel capacity, pilot armour and self-sealing tanks added at the cost of manoeuvrability and landing gear stability, leaving it outclassed by the time the U.S. entered the war.

This model is finished in dark sea grey upper surfaces with a pale grey underside, carrying red, white and blue US national markings on the fuselage, wings and rudder. The aircraft code 221-MF-6 is printed in black along both sides of the fuselage, and the gun sight is moulded in black in front of the clear cockpit frame.

Specifications

Brand: Oxford Diecast

Scale: 1:72

Aircraft type: Brewster F2A-3 Buffalo

Air force: USAF

Era: WW2

Category: Diecast Models

Common questions

What scale is this model?

It is built to 1:72 scale, matching other aircraft in the Oxford Diecast range.

What markings does it carry?

It represents an F2A-3 Buffalo of VMF-221 US Marine Corps based in Hawaii in 1941, coded 221-MF-6 with US national insignia on the fuselage, wings and rudder.

Is this a ready made model?

Yes, it is a factory finished diecast model supplied fully assembled and painted, not a kit for assembly.

https://www.hangarmodels.co.uk/products/oxford-p-51d-mustang-capt-d-r-emerson-8th-af-debden-1944-diecast-model-1-72-ac126-copy
