The scheme was intended for a single static appearance at the 1989 Leuchars 'At Home' Airshow but proved popular enough that the aircraft used its remaining flying hours as Treble One's display machine through 1990.

Known to RAF pilots and enthusiasts as 'Black Mike' because of her colour and squadron letter, XV582 made her final flight on 22nd September 1990 before becoming a static exhibit at Leuchars. This Corgi diecast model recreates that scheme in 1:48 scale.

Specifications

Brand: Corgi

Category: Diecast Models

Scale: 1:48

Aircraft type: Phantom FG.1

Air force: RAF

Era: Cold War

Markings: XV582 'Black Mike', RAF No.111 Squadron

Common questions

What scale is this model?

It is built to 1:48 scale.

Which squadron and aircraft does this represent?

It depicts Phantom FG.1 XV582 of RAF No.111 Squadron, known as 'Black Mike' for its gloss black scheme and squadron letter.

Is this a diecast model or a kit requiring assembly?

This is a factory finished Corgi diecast model, not a kit for building or painting.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0982/0294/3863/files/phantom_0000_Layer7_64009fed-f828-4b46-833e-0429b8738861.jpg?v=1786819375
https://www.hangarmodels.co.uk/products/corgi-english-electric-lightning-f-6-binbrook-wing-diecast-scale-model-1-48-aa28404-copy-1
