It applies smoothly by brush straight from the tin, or can be thinned with standard Humbrol enamel thinners for airbrushing where a finer, more even coat is needed.

Being an enamel, it dries slowly enough to allow brush strokes to settle out, and touch-dry times of 20 to 40 minutes mean you can build up protection in thin layers rather than risking a single heavy coat. Two thin coats give a more consistent, durable finish than one thick application.

Specifications

Brand: Humbrol

Paint colour: Clear

Finish: Matt

Tin size: 14ml

Type: Solvent-based enamel

Coverage: Approximately 0.3m² per tin

Touch-dry time: 20 to 40 minutes

Common questions

Can I use this with an airbrush?

Yes, thin it with standard Humbrol enamel thinners to get a consistency suitable for airbrushing.

Will this affect the colour underneath?

No, this is a clear matt varnish, so it seals and flattens the sheen of the finish without altering the colour.

How do I clean my brushes afterwards?

Humbrol enamel thinners will clean brushes and equipment after use.
