It can be brushed straight from the tin or thinned for airbrush application using standard enamel thinners.

The 14ml tin covers approximately 0.3m², enough for two thin coats across a typical kit. Applying two thin coats rather than one heavy layer gives a better finish and a more durable result.

Specifications

Brand: Humbrol

Paint colour: Clear

Finish: Gloss

Size: 14ml

Type: Varnish

Formula: Solvent-based enamel

Common questions

How long does it take to dry?

It dries to touch in 1-2 hours, so you can move on to masking or further layers in the same session.

What surfaces can I use it on?

It bonds well to plastic, wood, metal and sealed surfaces, making it useful for diorama work as well as standard plastic kits.

How do I clean up after use?

Use Humbrol Enamel Thinners for clean-up, and once fully cured the varnish forms a hard-wearing, permanent finish.
