It dries touch-dry in 20-40 minutes, allowing builds to progress without long waits between coats.

The paint applies well straight from the tin with a brush, or can be thinned for airbrush use to achieve a smoother finish. Two thin coats are recommended over a single heavy application for the best result. The 14ml tin covers approximately 0.3m² depending on how thickly it is applied.

Specifications

Brand: Humbrol

Product: Metal Cote 27001 Aluminium

Type: Enamel Paint

Finish: Matt

Colour: Grey

Volume: 14ml

Touch-dry time: 20-40 minutes

Coverage: Approximately 0.3m² per tin

Common questions

What surfaces can I use this paint on?

It works across a range of surfaces including plastics, wood, metal and ceramics, making it suitable for most modelling applications beyond plastic kits alone.

How do I clean up after use?

Humbrol Enamel Thinners will clean brushes and equipment straightforwardly after use.

Does it need thinning for airbrush use?

Yes, the paint can be airbrushed once thinned with suitable enamel thinners, giving an even smoother finish than brush application.
